Why did I become an Consultant for WhiteCollarSports.com?
WhiteCollarSports.com presents an opportunity for high school athletes to benefit from the intersection of high school education, the sports business industry and collegiate sports management programs. As a high school athlete, I was never introduced to a program that would allow me to begin learning sports business terminology. Notably, I started WhiteCollarSports.com after working on a sports related project at the beginning of my legal career wherein I had the opportunity to interact and work with professional athletes. WhiteCollarSports.com’s objective is to equip high school athletes with a roadmap for continuing their love for sports by introducing them to sports business concepts through the WCS Monthly Sports Business Text (SBT) service for high-school athletes. Even more, I am proud to serve with the talented and dedicated WCS Board of Directors.

Educational and Professional Background
I am a proud alumnus of Cass Technical High School in Detroit, Michigan, and obtained a Letter in Varsity Baseball while attending. I then obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Michigan. Next, I earned a Juris Doctorate of Laws from the University of Detroit-Mercy School of Law. While practicing school law, I decided to reenter graduate school and successfully earned a Master of Science in Education with a specialization in Sports Management from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I am also a specialized school law attorney practicing in the State of Michigan with a strong record of working with K-12 Superintendents, Athletic Directors, Educators and Administrators.

Why did I become an Advisory Board Member for WhiteCollarSports.com?
I wanted to be part of an organized effort to merge the worlds of education and sports in a way that had not been done before. WhiteCollarSports.com is the vehicle to make that happen by exposing the high school scholar-athlete to the opportunities available in the sports business arena. In the sports realm, I’ve worked as a radio sports journalist and as the former vice-president of WhiteCollarSports. In the education realm, I’ve worked as a substitute teacher and currently teach at the college-level. Having an extensive background in both of these areas, WhiteCollarSports.com is the perfect fit for me and my own personal mission to change lives for the better.

Education and Professional Background
After graduating from Cass Technical High School in Detroit, Michigan, I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Telecommunications from Michigan State University, and a Master of Arts in Communication Media-Arts from Wayne State University. I’ve worked as a sports radio talk-show host-reporter locally, and for various radio outlets throughout the United States and Canada. I’ve worked as a substitute teacher for the Detroit Public Schools and currently teach public speaking courses at The University of Detroit-Mercy, Henry Ford College, and Wayne County Community College District. I’ve also worked as an instructor at Wayne State University, Spring Arbor University, Washtenaw Community College, Baker College of Allen Park, and The University of Phoenix. Other courses that I have facilitated include broadcast news writing, interpersonal communication, introduction to film studies, film theory and history, introduction to American popular culture, and business literature.
